David Sperling



Dave Sperling comes to the Deli Man with more than twenty-five years experience as Director of Photography for both film and video productions. His credits include more than dozen feature films, the most recent being Girl on the Train with Ian Cusick and Stephen Lang, which is currently making the festival rounds. He also shot the award-winning television series Remember WENN and Mathnet, as well as numerous documentaries including HBO’s recent 50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus, and the Peabody and Emmy award winning Billy Strayhorn: A Lush Life. He has previously worked with director Erik Anjou on several projects, including The Klezmatics – On Holy Ground, 8: Ivy Football and America, and Journey of Miracles, a biography of Holocaust survivor David Mitzner.  Mr. Sperling is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and often speaks at conferences and seminars as a member of the Sony ICE (Independent Certified Experts) Team. A graduate of the NYU Graduate Institute of Film and Television, he is also the creator of the OnSet Software computer programs for theatre and film.  He is currently developing an online course on the Principles of Cinematography in conjunction with the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.  Amongst his awards are a Cable Ace for Series Cinematography for his work on Remember Wenn and an Emmy Nomination for Mathnet.  More information about David can be found at www.hdvDP.com and www.onsetsoftware.com.
